Game 1 - 13 Innings

Eric Hosmer walk off HR in the home half of the 13th puts The Avengers up 1-0. Kershaw, Manship and Gott combine for 19 K's and 7 hits. Clayton goes 10 innings for the no decision. The teams combined for 16 runners left on base in the extra inning contest. Gott (1-0) gets the win, Rondon (0-1) suffered the loss.
Game 2 -

Chicago knots the series up 1-1 with the help of shoddy Avenger defense and timely hitting. Erie County commits 4 errors and Carlos Gonzalez goes 3-5, 3 Runs, 5 RBI and a HR. Warren (1-0) gets the win going 6 allowing 6 hits and fanning 4. Wacha (0-1) gets touched up for 7 runs over 7 innings.
Game 3 -

Erie pitching comes through as Carlos Carrasco (1-0) allows 2 hits, 0 runs and K's 8 over 6 innings. Cowbell pitching was tough also with the only blemish on starter Jacob Degrom (0-1) was a 1st inning triple to Hosmer followed by a wild pitch and a 2nd inning HR to Chase "Murph Beater" Headley. David Peralta goes deep of closer Ken Giles to break the shut-out.
Game 4 -

A re-match of 1st game starters and extra innings were needed again to decide it. Piscotty opens the scoring with a lead-off HR. Beltre leads off the home half of the 2nd doubling down the line, with 2 outs Phillips singles in Beltre tying it up 1-1. Solo shots in the 4th and 5th by Posey and Jones put Chicago up 3-1. Archer cruising along takes the hill in the 9th looking to tie the series up at 2. Taylor and Aybar retire quickly. Mid season acquisition Zack "Minor Murph Beater" steps up to the plate and cracks a 2-11 HR into the bleachers. Giovanni "MAJOR Murph Beater" grabs his lumber and makes his way to the dish. Manager Wilke scrambling to see if there are any other options, determining there are none in Babe Ruth fashion he called his shot. "Wouldn't a 1-2 about put you over the edge?" After handling the 3 dice for a good 10 seconds they were dropped in the chute. A quick tumble and the magic 3 aces appear for a game tying solo shot. Needless to say the words expressed are not suitable for print. Onto extras..... Erie goes quietly in the top half. With Hansel "Pink" Robles (0-1)on the mound Phillips flies out, Jones is hit with the ball and Espinosa comes into run. Wilmer "Wilke Beater" Flores steps to the plate and plants a 6-9 HR into the LF stands

Cowbells........ 0 2 5 0 1 0 0 0 - 8 10 0 Hahn (CG)
Spot starter Andrew Heaney (0-1) threw batting practice for the Chicago Cowbells. Heaney allowed 10 hits and 8 runs. Erie County, clearly deflated after the game 4 loss showed no passion getting only 3 hits and 1 run off the Cowbell starter Jessy Hahn (1-0)
Chicago goes up 3-2 in the series heading back to Erie.
Game 6 -

Game 2 starters take the hill for the pivotal game 6. K. Davis triples in 2 and Hundley gets an RBI off a failed BP HR chance to take an early 3-0 lead. 4 singles and a SAC Bunt in the top half of the 2nd ties the score at 3. On to the 5th, after 2 singles, an error and a walk, Franco doubles in 2 and Phillips tags a deep RBI Sac Fly. Chicago goes up 6-3 cruising their way to their 1st WS appearance. In the home half of the 5th Erie plays their version of small ball, 2 walks and 3 singles plate 3 to tie it at 6. Both starters are chased and it turns into a 3 inning game. With Michael Blazek on the mound, Kinsler singles and Chase "*^&^&()*&% Murph Beater" Headley blasts a 5-2 HR to put the Avengers up by 2. Gott puts the Cowbells down quietly in the 8th and Giles shuts them down in the 9th for his 2nd save.
Tied at 3 heading to game 7.

Erie County strikes first in the 3rd, Hundley and Headley single, with 2 outs Kershaw helps his own cause with an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead. 3 4th inning singles plate 1 and a Bogaerts solo shot in the 5th give the Cowbells a 2-1 lead. To the bottom of the 5th....Springer and Blanco single and Nelson Cruz finally comes through with a 2-11 3 run blast. Up 4-2 heading into the 9th. Ramos takes the hill and K's Abreu. After walking Bogaerts, Ken Giles comes on to close the door. Trumbo walks and Posey pops out of out #2. Vogt onto pinch hit singles up the middle to put Chicago within 1. Beltran grabs a bat and hits a long fly ball to end the game ending The Cowbell's shot at their first World Series appearance. Defending champion Erie County returns for a possible repeat.
