Game 1
Chi 2-4-0 (deGrom) Lin 0-5-0 (Kluber, Davis)
DeGrom went the distance with 8 Ks, allowing just one runner to third base. Kluber was good too, recording 4 Ks in 7 innings. Solo homers by Posey and Jones were enough for the Cow Bells.
Game 2
Chi 6-8-0 (Hahn, Blazek, Ziegler) Lin 0-6-0 (Santiago, Davis, Jeffress, Miller)
Jones continued his improbable prowess, hitting 2 more homers from the eight hole and gunning a runner out at the plate, while Lincoln extended their offensive woes, this time hitting into 4 DPs. Hahn had 5 scoreless innings and Blazek added 3 more. Franco's 2-run 2B provided insurance Chicago. Santiago went 6, striking out 4, while walking 5.
Game 3
Lin 5-9-0 (Fiers, Miller) Chi 6-10-1 (Archer, Blazek)
Lincoln finally got off the schneid, plating 3 in the first with a bunch of walks and RBI singles by Marte and Escobar. Chicago took the lead in the 3rd with a grand slam by Gonzalez, but Donaldson tied it in the 5th with a solo HR. Franco scored in the 6th off a 6-4-3 DP, but Lincoln answered again in the 8th with a Y Escobar PH RBI 2B. Peralta hit a 1-out 3B in the 9th and Bogaerts hit a walk-off single with the infield and outfield drawn in to win the series for the Cow Bells.
Series result: Chi, 3-0. No injuries.
