At Great American Ballpark the Chicago Cowbells were battered 7 to 2 by the Erie
County Avengers.
Erie County wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they
scored 3 runs on 3 hits. That was all the offense they were to need. Erie
County finished with 7 hits in the victory.
The win was credited to Clayton Kershaw(9-2) who went 7 and 2/3 innings
allowing 2 runs. Chris Archer(0-2) ended up with the loss. He allowed 3
homeruns in 8 innings of work.

Left fielder David Peralta rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Rich Hill
came through with a solid 7 innings as the Chicago Cowbells smashed the
overmatched Erie County Avengers, 15 to 0.
Peralta provided the offensive punch. He clubbed a solo home run in the 6th
inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 8th inning. Chicago bats were very
productive in the 6th inning with 4 runs on 3 hits. The Chicago offense
man-handled the Erie County pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9
innings.
The win was credited to Hill(1-0) who went 7 innings allowing no runs. Andrew
Cashner(1-1) absorbed the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 2
walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Michael Wacha(8-1) finally bested his Chicago opposite, Jesse Hahn(0-1), by
the score of 2 to 1.
Erie County scored 1 run in the 6th inning. Chicago had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short. Ken Giles was credited with his 7th save. Hahn took
the loss. He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 3 hits and 2 walks.

Center fielder Corey Dickerson ripped 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Carlos
Carrasco tossed a complete game as the Erie County Avengers outscored the
Chicago Cowbells 6 to 3.
Dickerson had a big evening at the plate. He clubbed a three-run home run in
the 1st inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 3rd inning. Erie County
won despite being out-hit by Chicago 10 hits to 6.
Carrasco(4-4) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Jacob
Degrom(2-1) was the loser. He gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
