on base in his 1 inning. Bay Bay finished with 9 hits while Chicago ended up
with 5.

Chicago scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 4 base hits. After an out was recorded, Brandon Phillips was the
sparkplug when he doubled. Adam Jones was next and he lined a one-base hit
driving in a run. Mark Trumbo then slapped a base-hit. Bogaerts stepped in
and he slapped a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago
rapped out 11 hits for the night.

walks in 9 innings. Degrom chalked up 11 strikeouts. Chicago banged out 12
hits on the night.
Mike Leake(1-1) absorbed the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 3
walks in 5 innings. 'He was moving it around and spotting it very well.'
Brian Mancuso said. Degrom pitched a great game. He deserves all the
credit.'
